Stoneface Films was founded with the goal of creating entertaining media without losing a unique social, cultural, or reflexive viewpoint. Creative Director Jon Hozier-Byrne has assembled a remarkable team of creatives and collaborators, and since our debut short premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, we’ve created quality work for artists, labels, and businesses in Ireland and around the world. We strive to keep our filmmaking innovative, visually engaging, and to tell stories that stay with the viewer long after the lights come up.



Writer/director/producer Jon Hozier-Byrne works tirelessly to create media that both challenges and entertains. In 2014, while preparing a PhD thesis in film and teaching in University College Dublin, he wrote and directed his debut short film which was selected to premier at the Cannes Film Festival. He left university to found Stoneface Films, and since then, he's written and directed dozens of music videos for the likes of Sony, Universal, Columbia, and Rubyworks. He’s also written and produced commercial work for Samaritans, Xhail, Deliveroo, Generator, and the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland. He is a familiar voice on Irish radio, often contributing to national station Newstalk FM, and was a curator of the Wicklow Film Festival in 2017. He is currently working on his first feature film, and in 2018, was a finalist in the Galway Film Fleadh’s Pitching Competition.
